Hydrogeology Services

Hydrogeology is the study of how water interacts with the ground.

Excluding snow and ice, groundwater makes up some 97% of the Earth’s freshwater supply, a significant natural resource.  Groundwater is therefore important to understand so that it is managed properly.

TLC Hydrogeology Services define and implement hydrogeology studies in order to allow for appropriate development and management of this important resource.  In England and Wales the Environment Agency was created by the Water Resources Act 1991 and is responsible for groundwater management.  The Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC) is European legislation that sets reference levels, or targets, for achieving good groundwater quality.  For England and Wales the targets and how to achieve them are set out in a number of River Basin Management Plans.

If you wish to obtain baseline hydrogeology information, need assistance with discussing your groundwater problem with the regulators, need to understand construction and development proposal impacts on groundwater or need to clean up historic groundwater pollution, TLC delivers on your requirements. TLC’s Hydrogeology Service is able to assist with your understanding of sub surface drainage problems, groundwater pollution events, accelerated settlement and the interaction between groundwater and surface water systems.

TLC provides the following hydrogeology services :

TLC has significant experience in the areas of hydrogeology investigations, hydrogeology studies and hydrogeology modelling and risk assessment.
