TLC is able to complete an assessment of the materials arising from your development site and prepare an optimised plan to manage their physical and chemical treatment, and, if needed, their reuse or disposal.
Toxic Land Check (TLC) Ltd has achieved significant time and financial savings in completing waste assessments and Site Waste Management Plans (SWMP) for construction sites.
TLC has experience in obtaining regulatory approval for reuse of potentially hazardous
waste soil materials. For example on the BritNed transmission project interconnector
onshore works at the Isle of Grain in Kent TLC completed a hazardous waste re-
When conducting the Hazardous Waste Assessments TLC uses regulatory guidance such as CLR11 (2004) Model Procedures for the Management of Land Contamination, the Waste Hazardous Waste Regulations (2005) and Technical Guidance WM2 (2008) ‘Interpretation of the definition and classification of hazardous waste’. To determine material suitability for hazardous waste reuse TLC refers to Guidance on Comparing Soil Contamination Data with a Critical Concentration published jointly by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and CLAIRE in May 2008.
TLC refers to other guidance when water disposal may be an issue. For example to manage disposal of trench water reference is made to CIRIA (2006) Publication C648 Technical Guidance on ‘Control of water pollution from linear construction projects’.
For a no obligation discussion of your hazardous waste management issue please do not hesitate to contact TLC.
